We both have a passion for dogs having previously owned Labradors and Spaniels that were trained to the gun. We have even been known to have a German Shepherd or two and more recently a Border Terrier.

In 1995 we bought a yellow Labrador bitch for my birthday and little did we know how this would change our lives. We called our puppy 'Amber' and this formed the first part of our affix, the second part 'stope' came from our address.The show and obedience training we did with Amber stood us in good stead for what was to come.

In 1996 we purchased a yellow labrador bitch from the Carromer Kennel, Carromers Heaven Sent and we had moderate success in the ring with her. We had now been bitten by the showing bug. The following year we added another yellow bitch to our kennel, Rocheby Babycham. These two bitches when mated were to start the Amberstope Kennel and produce sound , healthy dogs with a perfect temperament.

Our first litter was produced by Rocheby Babycham (Caff) mated to Sh Ch Foxrush Prime Suspect. This mating produced Amberstope Glen Grant(Duke) who resides with Aardvar Labradors and has enjoyed many a day out on shoots. Carromers Heaven Sent was mated to Rocheby Navy Blue producing our adorable Amberstope Blue Moon(Blue). Blue and Caff have produced some lovely puppies including the beautiful Amberstope Blue Mist. The successful combination of the Amberstope and  Ludalor Kennels gave us Sh Ch Ludalor Lunar Eclipse Over Amberstope JW and of course for the Ludalor Kennel Ch Ludalor Lunar Orbit JW.

During 2005 we went back to the working side with Blue Moon and Blue Mist and took them on shoots. At the end of that year they both passed their Show Gundog Working Certificates, thus making Blue Moon our first full champion.

Over the years we have produced some lovely show dogs and generations down from Blue and Caff we now have Amberstope Rebel Yell ShCM and Amberstope American Star ShCM (Amberstope Glen Grant ex Amberstope Georgia), our first full Amberstopes.

We are fortunate that in our kennel to date we have one full champion in Amberstope Blue Moon, one show champion in Ludalor Lunar Eclipse with his Junior Warrant, Amberstope Rebel Yell has 2 CC's with 1 BOB and 3 RCC's and Rebel Yell and American Star both have their Show Certificate of Merit. Blue Mist, Rebel Yell, American Star and Lunar Eclipse have all passed their Bronze Test in the Good Citizen Dog Scheme.
